Mermaid: The vision of the most beautiful woman of the beach and sea is the inspiration for the 2009 Salinas summer collection.
Mermaids represent sensual myths that incite desire in the enchanted universe of sea, sand, and beauty. She reflects fascination in the sinuosity of the waves and sea foam derived from the coming and going of the tide.
New forms are built from the mix of wafer thin, delicate fabrics, which are extremely sophisticated thanks to the help of the latest in textile technology. Endless possibilities are now opened up for structures, finishes and creativity. Take for example the versatile new fabric used in the K-Generation line, which utilises Doutex®, a blend of polyamid and Lycra®. This provides the look of crepe with the sophistication of a couture finish.
For 2009 Salinas are using new fabrics which are exclusive to them from Rosset®, combining Lycra® and corduroy jerseys, allowing innovation in the modelling and detailing of garments. In the collection you will find folds that remind of shells; pleated ruffles to add sophistication. Tulle layers with subtle volume, and Swarovski® crystals, clear like water droplets.
The tones and transparency of water dominate the collection. Blues are found in every tone; fresh, light, greyish, greenish, and turquoise with deep tints. The surprise element comes in a clash of neon colours in the detail. Pink, lilac and sun yellow.
The blend of sensual shapes and colours make women turn into true mermaids.
