Care of your Swimsuit

Prolonged use in a pool or Jacuzzi, mainly those with a high chlorine content will diminish the durability of the bikini. Chlorine is the #1 enemy of Lycra®.

Opaque Lycra®, most commonly used in Salinas swimwear, is known for its suppleness and smooth texture. Therefore it has more sensitive fibres and requires special care.

Bright colours are more sensitive to sunlight. Prolonged exposure to sunlight may fade bright colours.

Some tips to care for your bikini, one piece...

  • Hand wash using mild soap. Rinse in cold water after wear removing all salt and chlorine.
  • Do not machine wash or dry. Do not dry clean.
  • Squeeze gently to remove excess water. Do not wring or twist.
  • Do not store wet swimwear in a plastic bag.
  • Do not soak for prolonged periods.
  • Dry flat in a shaded and ventilated area. If necessary, wrap damp swimwear in a light coloured towel.
  • Avoid excess oil, lotions or other cosmetic products on fabric.
  • Try to avoid rough surfaces.
